I wanted to know if there is a solution to my remote problem. I am after the functionality of the Canon TC-80N3 (like setting up intervals between firing - good for timelapse) but I also want to be able to do this remotely...with no cord. I have the 5D Mark 11
Any ideas? Help would be greatly appreciated thanks!

This is the only wireless unit I know of, but have no experience with it.

Promaster makes an infrared one. It is light weight and plastic, but work well.
