When I navigate to the folder that has the files I want to rename, Fastone only displays the files that match a predetermined set of extensions. CR2 is not one of them and there doesn't seem to be any way to add it. In a normal files window you can search for specific file types or ALL. (I should note that I'm using Fastone on WIndows, if that makes a difference).

Hmmm, that's not what happens when I try it -

You may have to go to the [Settings] tab, click on the [Settings] line (or just press the F12 key for the settings box), then go to the [Associations] tab and make sure the CR2 checkbox is checked. I have been using FastStone for years (on version 4.7 right now) and never had any issue renaming raw files, either batch or individually. Also, when renaming files individually, it doesn't show an extension in the name pop-up box unless the "Show Extension" checkbox is checked. FastStone doesn't change the file type/extension unless you specifically ask it to, such as in Batch Convert.

These two posts were driving me crazy, because I was not seeing the settings option mentioned or the screen as Frank showed it, so I went back and checked. I think the confusion is that I was using Image FastStone Photo Resizer 3.1 and you all are using FastStone Image Viewer 4.8. I went and downloaded the latter, and sure enough, my problem is solved. Thanks all for the help.

I've been using DPP for years without any problem.

Glad you got it worked out Canetti, when you just mentioned "Faststone" in your first post we all assumed you meant the Image Viewer program that many people here use,it's a great program and I think you will find it very useful for more than just viewing and renaming.
