Nice job. I have not started processing yet. Were you using a polarizer? I notice the dreaded funky colored windshields. That's the main reason I never use one when shooting cars or airplanes.

Thanks Tim! Yeah, I was experimenting with the CP this time. Every outdoor race or airshow we go to here in Wisconsin seems to have the ugly white/hazy skies from the humidity. I didn't like what that did to the shots from the last few events so I thought I'd try the CP and see if it helped. It worked fine of some, not so well on others. I didn't try to remove any of the funkiness from any of them in post processing yet, still trying to go through all the shots for the first pass, maybe I'll try that later. If that doesn't work, they can always be converted to b/w

Very good shots here, nice and sharp with plenty of motion blur.

Going to disagree on the CP usage.

A proper CP used correctly can get incredible images. I don't want to hijack the thread, maybe I'll post some of my ALMS Road America shots to show the results.

I'm quite happy with the results I got. The rainbow thing only showed up on a very few of the cars, and only at certain angles (the BMW, Corvette, and a couple of the Porsches). Heck, at airshows, the rainbow effect shows up much more than this on the canopies of newer fighter jets WITHOUT using a CP, something about the materials they're made out of now.

I quite agree. A little rainbow is still a lot better than all the glare I get without a CPL.
