Macro Takumar lens mounted on my 10D. 1/200th @ F/22. The more I use and get used to this lens, the more I like it. :D
I think this is the same Grashopper that likes to nibble on fingers.
He was high enough on the Sunflower that I had to stand on a bucket to get this shot. He thought He was well hidden. ;)
Comments Welcomed.

Good shot, but it would be a even better shot if that leave wouldn't block his body. I know you can't move it, or else hes gonna jump away, but still a great capture!

What kind of lens is it, can u be more specific for me?

YUP! Guaranteed to either hop away, bite me again, or both.

Absolutely! This is a screw mount (M42) Pentax lens dating from the sixties. Takumars were noted for being pretty sharp lenses in the Pentax line. This particular lens is a 50mm macro lens capable of 1 to 1 lifesize images, and Pentax called it "Macro Takumar". I bought a couple M42 to EOS adapters off of ebay, and use these to adapt this lens as well as my Asahi Pentax Bellows or extension rings with my 55mm Super Takumar. ;)

Great capture, he probably thought the leaf was big enough. Be careful standing on buckets.

Thanks BE. I'm glad to hear you approve. :D
About the bucket, the Grasshopper was well over 6 FT up, so, I had to be daring to get close enough, or no photo. ;)

Or it could be a clone stamp to take out bits of an unwanted (in the photo) building from the other side of the street that was showing on the underside of the leaf. ;)

Nice shot, Bruce.:) I sure don't know what happened to all our Hoppers this year. Normally they are around here by the tons, but this year, I've only seen 3 of them.:(

Thanks Rocky, Yeah, I've only seen a couple this year, and they BOTH may have been the same one. (And I think that's the same one that chomped my finger.) ;)
