if the customer likes it thats whats important. doesn't make someone a bad photographer cause of the customers choice of location.
Just going on that last comment,
I'm no wedding photographer, but I have been in the wedding industry for years, on the entertainment side...
The only thing I can say is, the customer isn't always right. I know that doesn't sound right, but its true. On their wedding day, they're much too busy/worried/anxious etc. to really know what needs to be done, or what's right, they just want it done so they don't have anything else to worry about.
Many a time we've been asked by the couples to setup in a specific place or not to play certain songs, yet when we've moved into a different place, and played 'that song' we've done it because it fitted with the moment, and what we thought professionally would look and sound good with the event. Each and every time, the couples come back to speak to us at the end of the night, not to complain, but to say 'The band looked great where they were, we'd never have thought of using the room like that' or 'I'm actually really glad you played that song'.
What i'm trying to get at is, although the couple have said that this is where they want their pictures taken, maybe you need to take a more assertive role, (obviously not be rude!
) but just say, 'this is nice, but if we take a little walk down here, there are some lovely trees that would just look perfect' etc.
Just my 2cents..
