For everyday photography, should the "Long Exposure Noise Reduction" facility be on or off?
I am a bit confused as to when this would be an advantage.

Shooting everyday objects it will wither have no effect or will double your exposure time Thanks for your reply. It wasn't until I read a post in reply to someone with a query regarding photographing stars that I decided to check my camera, it was then that I found mine on. IslandCrow Senior Member 589 posts Likes: 1 Joined Oct 2008 Location: Rapid City, SD More info | Aug 25, 2010 10:21 | #5 Honestly, I end up running with my long exposure NR on all of the time, but I think that's because pretty much the only time I take long exposures is for my landscape photos, and I'm just not concerned with a few more seconds of exposure time. . .for that matter, I specifically want it on for these photos. So, since 99.9% of the time it doesn't kick in until I actually want it, I'd rather leave it on than risk forgetting it when I really want it. It's certainly a personal preference, though.
