I really like the Tamrac 3537 (their biggest messenger style bag) but even that one is missing a centimeter depth.

What do you guys use for 40Ds with battery grip?

200mm lens and 580EX flash also looking for a home in it but that's probably the smaller problem here? :)

My imagine composition sucks. I need a heavier lens.

Take a look at the Lowepro Stealth Reporter line. There are about six models, each larger than the other. They are real professional bags, extremely well made, completely sealed against the weather, with a built-in waterproof cover and a top zip access, in addition to a main zipper around the top. There is a single complete access pinch buckle in the front.

The 300 and up should easily handle your gear.

The ThinkTank Urban Disguise 35 and 70 Pro fit gripped bodies and all of the bags in their new Retrospective Series say they do as well. I haven't seen any of the Retrospective bags in person but I have the 70 Pro. Their bags aren't inexpensive but are very well made.

I have the Lowepro Classified 200 AW and it holds a gripped XXD body or 1-series + 24-70 ready to shoot or + 70-200 hood reversed and, in the unlined pocket under the flap, I've been able to fit a gripped 40D as well.

Two Cameras, 580EXII and anywhere from two to four other lenses in one handy (if slightly heavy) shoulder bag.

I carry a 50D body with battery grip, 70-200, 24-70, a 580ex and an iPad in the ThinkTank Retrospective 20 and it works great.

I love my Domke F-2. Its not a hard shell so when you carry it it conforms to your hip. I got mine and washed/dried it to speed up the break in process. Its an awesome bag that doesn't look like a camera bag.

Good luck!
