I love my 11-16, was seriously a good investment and it's a fun lens to use. I'm sure the Sigma 8-16 is nice too, but it's still a Sigma. I have much, MUCH more trust in Tokina's products than in Sigma's.
The Sigma is relatively new, and it remains to be seen whether or not they've outgrown their huge sample variations and extremely poor quality control.

Some of my lenses focus beyond infinity...!

See i kinda wanted something in the 10mm range but. . .i saw some pix that show really no diff between 10mm to 11mm. The range does not seem all that but as someone stated... i'll prolly be shooting/treating it like a 11mm prime. The range is just in case.

Tokina is best crop UWA choice to me. Sharpness, speed (f/2.8), color, built, price are top notch. No USM but fast enough for what it is for. But I have say if the lens was 11-20mm/2.8 It would be perfect.

Canon is very good but it's just too expensive for what it can offer. And color looks ittle flat to my eyes tho I can be wrong.

Plus I would rather to have f/2.8 than have USM in this short focal length range.

Congrats on your choice! You will not be dissapointed. I bought this lens about two months ago and I love it. I was undecided between the 11-16 and the 12-24. Went with the 11-16. Have not regretted my decision. This lens has brought a different dimension to my photography.
