Disapointed

- 5.6 picture pro sec
- No micro adjustment (I hope I have misunderstood this)

For me it is great to see that it is smaller than 50D, I like pro stuff inside, but I don't like it big.

Shrug. The 60D lost some features, gained some features. But at the same time the T2i gained some features, and every Rebel has been gaining features. If anything, the gap between the Rebel and XXD series is shrinking.

Here we go..."According to a Canon rep we spoke with, the 60D has a polycarbonate plastic resin exterior over an aluminum chassis. It weighs 2.3 ounces lighter than the 50D: 26.6 ounces (60D) vs. 28.9 ounces (50D)."

P&S ---> 60D ---> T2i ---> Choose one from Column A and/or one from Column B

Column A: T2i ---> 7D ---> 1DMkIV
Column B: T2i ---> 5DMkII ---> 1DsMkIII / MkIV

Pretty smart marketing if you ask me...

Blend the 50d and 7d badges to make the 70D, bypass the 60d

From the point of view of an experienced SLR user, this is true but look at it from the bottom up as though you were coming from a Powershot or Digital Elph...

Now which camera has more in common with your P&S? Also, what will the T2i morph into over the next six months or so? If the 60D is that much better, than the T2i just got totally neutered and will need to be either overhauled (T2in anyone?) or eliminated altogether.

I think the biggest similarity that people consider is price, and the T2i is still cheaper than the 60D. The articulating screen might convince them to jump directly to the 60D, but they certainly won't move from the 60D to the T2i.

The way I see it the 60D is a beefed up 550D with an angled screen.

As a 7D user, I'm very happy Canon have protected it's reputation with the best crop sensor.

I was worried the value of the 7D would diminish, but preliminary examination of the specs of this camera reveal it is inferior as a photographic tool.

If you want a basic DSLR with 18MP and video get the 550D....and if you want superior AF, faster shutter action and video than get the 7D.

Therefore if you don't want to spend the money on a 7D...the next best option is the 60D.

Is that how everyone else is reading it?

without AF microadjust it is nothing :-(

i have to agree canon are silly to not put that in it , i would have bought one as the lcd would have been handy for low shots but no MA -i wont bother.

60D
• 9 cross-type AF points (f/2.8 at center)
• Center point additionally sensitive with lenses of F2.8 or faster
• AF working range: -0.5 – 18 EV (at 23°C, ISO 100)

550D
• 9-point CMOS sensor
• F5.6 cross-type at center, extra sensitivity at F2.8
• AF working range: -0.5 to 18 EV (at 23°C, ISO 100)
• Predictive AF up to 10 m

The 7D's 19 cross-type AF points focus system is far superior......
