Wow, complaints about the 5.3 FPS already and the camera was just announced. Can't canon do anything right?

I think its time for me to upgrade my 30D :D

Yup I think of a great family oriented camera. Has the features of point and shoot (video, swivel screen, SD card) and dSLR features. The 7D is the "new xxD" series...no doubt!

Plastic body FTL. They shouldn't have taken that away.

Although I'm curious about the filter effects. I wonder if that will be included in the next 7D update.

60D is not a direct 50D successor!

I've already seen the comment starting in the other threads, so before they get out of hand, I just want to point out that the 60D is not meant to be a direct upgrade to the 50D. Canon is obviously going after Nikon and so they branched the 50D into two models - the 7D, to compete with D300, and this 60D, to compete with the D90. So don't get to crazy with the comparisons to the 50D.

And honestly, it makes sense. Think of what a 50D with upgraded AF, HD video and 18MP would be - a 7D, right? They needed something between the 550D and 7D, so they needed to reposition the xxD line a bit.

Of course while the 50D still exists for sale, this makes the choices even more confusing!

It will naturally be its successor, no? It is sad to see the XXD line die, but its finally happened. At least I got my 50D before it was too late.
