I'm unsure were you are getting your prices, but DPreview has the D7000 priced at US$1499 with kit lens, and I doubt the lens costs $800, so price info may need some waiting?

If you want the performance of a 7D, get a 7D. If you want or need something slightly better than a Rebel, the 60D is your body.
