Hey Immaculens, you seem to be in somewhere around where I am. haha.

Thanks for the confidence shot - problem is I will be in Hong Kong next week and will be picking it up there (-hst = good). No returns there but can replace or get credit for other stuff. Means that I will just have to reverse the buying sequence of the stuff that is on the shopping list.

Yes, I am in the GTA.

I'll be giving my lens a workout in Stratford on April 3rd for their annual swan release

Have a good trip ~

Thanks.

Should be a workout on the 3rd. Going to be missing a bit of the action around here. But then again lots of action there too, so....

Have fun.

I'm enjoying this lens quite a bit. Have to learn to hold the camera different, supporting the lens/body combo with my right hand rather than having a deathgrip on the hand grip.

It's fun to see the image stabilization at work, zoomed in at 300mm the image dances until you push the shutter halfway and then, smoooooth and stable.

And there's no question that at 300mm, it is sharp:

Camera Canon EOS 7D
Exposure 0.004 sec (1/250)
Aperture f/10.0
Focal Length 300 mm
ISO Speed 200

I'm considering shopping my 70-200f2.8L in for this...

Primarily for smaller & lighter lens for landscapes.

I love the 70-200 but I dont need/use the 2.8 very often. But can I give it up...

Here is a couple of photos with my 70-300L and 5d mark III. I really do believe I had a bad 7d before, thought maybe it might of been the lens, but glad it wasn't.
