Took this shot with my 55-250 and was able to capture the four brightest moons pretty clearly! Let me know what you think :)

Wow, I'm really impressed. Obviously not a lot of detail, but I'm surprised you were able to capture that not only with that lens, but handheld.

Canon T1i, Opteka grip, Tamron 17-50 f2.8, Canon 50 f1.8, Canon 28-135, Sigma 70-200 f2.8 ii, Canon 580ex, Cybersync radio trans/receiver, Sekonic L-358...no knowledge or skill.
Wanted: Sigma 8-16 ultrawide. Got one you don't want? Let me know!

I saw this post, went outside with my T1i/55-250 and could not capture same.

Blake, what settings did you use?

I focused on the moon, here is that shot, moved lens

then moved the lens to Jupiter and all I got was these at various ISO settings..
fully cropped, no moons.....all Tripod mounted,f10, 1/125 sec, 250mm + crop
(in 10x live view did not see the moons at various ISO settings, I was hoping on computer screen would see them)
ISO 100

ISO 400

ISO 3200 (ignore that green hot pixel)

Also took ISO 800 and 1600, nothing to see for those either.

How'd you do that? I'd like to repeat your capture, great job!
Was I just so slightly outta focus they got lost??
Could you see them in 10x live view?
Focus on the moon shows it's mostly dialed for infinity correctly....

I like that first image. It reminds me of the first time you see Jupiter through a low power telescope or binoculars.

where did you spot this ?

I'm in Miami, and the sky has been garbage for the past few days. I wanted to snap the full moon the other night, but couldn't see anything past the clouds. Is it still going to be showing up this week ?

Once I get Photoshop ( which should be today or tomorrow ) I will provide the exif data. Sorry for the inconvenience everyone. I also shot this about 30 miles away from any city so that there was no pollution or any factors that could deter the image in a big way. Thanks for everyones comments! I'm glad you enjoy :)
