Who else think today's annoucements from Canon are boring?

Honestly nothing in today's announcement really is exciting to me at all. Who else feel the same?

Have you seen the super telephoto news ?

I am stoked by the announcement, finally the 60D is released and it seems like a really good compromise between the 50D and 7D. Plus the 70-300L and 8-15L look really interesting to me. New TC's are nice as well. The super teles are out of my price range =/

Far from boring.

The new Mark II superteles look very, very nice with several great improvements. The 400/2.8L IS II is now hand-holdable, thanks to new, lighter materials. The IQ will be nothing short of stunning, also with the new Mark III extenders, I'm sure.

The 70-300L is a great telezoom for travelling/hiking. Weatherproof and relatively small and light, so it's easy to carry. I was hoping for a fixed f/4 max aperture, though.

60D is a nice family camera and the new articulated rear lcd has many uses.

Now all I really need is the 1DsM4 and 24-70/2.8L IS and I'm good to go...

What did you expect? Why are you disappointed?

Hardly boring. The 60D announcement was disappointing, but the lens announcements were really impressive.

70-300L looks like a perfect lens for me. I have been using 70-200/4IS + 1.4x TC for traveling and if the new one is equally good I'll get that one instead. More reach without TC (and I'll still have 70mm, instead of the 98mm I get with the TC), and I like that it's shorter. The 70-200 is too long/tall for my bags, not to mention how long it becomes with the TC mounted.

and... why does that 70-300mm L have 67mm filter???? 1st time ever? Canon is breaking their tradition

What is the filter size on the 100L macro or either of the 70-200 f/4?

If it's so boring to you, why did you bother to write about it?

No bothered by camera, but like the sound of the new Multi-Control Dial, which places a Multi-Controller and Set button inside the Quick Control Dial ... always thought they should be combined.

Canon EF 8-15mm f/4L Fisheye USM lens ... now that is on the shopping list !

Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6L IS USM lens ... sounds interested although I would sooner it was a fixed f4.0

I wonder if the introduction of the Canon EF 300mm f/2.8L IS II USM lens will mean it's predecessors will not longer be supported and serviced by Canon.

Not sure I understand how the IS mode 3 is usefull ... but I'm sure someone can enlighten me ...

Perhaps IS Mode 3 is an "IS Light" that can respond more quickly than the full-on four-stop IS Mode 1 and 2?

Remember that right now, you have to wait a beat before IS is truly fully engaged so maybe they have a speed version for rapidly changing situations.
