Love this one

Thank you.

The fox is excellent. Is he in the wild? And do you see him often? That would be quite special to see a fox like this on a regular basis.

Not wild but in a Wildlife centre and though bars.

With chickens at home and a couple of lurchers seeing Mr fox would not be good, for him, me, chickens, but the dags might like him yumm.

Monkey, I missed your cat shots earlier... nice, especially the top one of the profile. The other one makes it look super evil, lol.

Thanks Mark. I thought the same. Not my cat, and I don't think the owner shared my eagerness to show their cats dark side!

I think going for a 2.8 zoom is a great idea.... take a peek in the sigma 50-150 OS lens sample thread to see if you like the samples and ask the participants (best through PMs) of typical issues. Look online like B&H or Amazon or Adorama at reviews and see typical issues.

I think IS and OS would be quite beneficial... especially longer than 100mm

Thanks buddy.
I'm leaning toward that Sigma 50-150 as it would seem to compliment my 70-300L and allow me to get a little wider field of view on my crop body camera.
What do you all use when you go indoors?

JV, my honest answer to your question is; higher ISO or a 30mm prime! I don't really shoot indoor sports that require a telephoto.

For my needs I'm quite impressed how clean images are from the 70-300L 60D combo using a highish ISO, but I understand that 2.8 makes quite a big difference when needs must.

JV, for indoors, I believe most sports photographers would use either a 70-200mm 2.8 for a zoom or, if you want a faster shutter speed, either a 85mm 1.8, 100mm 2.0, or 135mm 2.0 prime.

happyduck, nice gull shots. Really got the eye focused perfectly in that top one!

Here's a few more from my goose/duck day:

There are situations I've encountered where I just can't get the ISO high enough or the noise gets too noticeable. Of course, my kids play on teams with black jerseys or dark purple. Why couldn't they be white and red or something that doesn't show the noise as bad?!?!?

Hello, I hope some owners of this lens can help me......still have not decided. I have looked at alot of images from the 70-300L in this thread and I do like what I see.

Two weeks ago I purchased a 6D (and sold my 50D + EFS 10-22mm) and am left with a 24-105L on the 6D.
I had made my mind up to get a Sigma 70-200mm APO OS last weekend, but held off. The last time I held a 200mm in my hands was in the film era! And even then I remember the reach was just a bit too short some times.

The main reason to get the Sigma is because it's a 2.8 lens. But now I am wondering if I can make do with the f/4 from the 7-300L because the high ISO performance of the 6D is just ridiculously good(compared to what I am used to with the 50D). Another advantage would be the extra 100mm reach from the 70-300L.

I want to use this lens mostly for landscapes, "airplane spotting" and nature/animals.

Is anyone maybe using this lens on a 6D?
Any advice is much appreciated!
