Sold my 70-200 II for this lens. Don't regret it for one minute.

Well, I did a bit of the opposite. Got the 70-300L, loved it on safari on my 7D but since I do quite a bit of weddings I also got the 70-200/F2.8 IS II. Now I'm very much considering selling the 70-300L but somehow I am holding it off because I have a feeling I'll regret it, even though I also have the 70-200 (which can be extended with an extender). Anyone ever had the 70-300L and regretted selling it?

a moderator on the forum got a 70-300L but ended up getting a 400mm L instead. I've not heard of regrets per se.

Happy,

What a nice photograph. I like the light playing on the flowers, the shadows, etc. The bee is just a bonus.

Well done.

How many use spot metering with this lens in lieu of evaluative?

I personally always use center weighted average metering for best results.

I recently purchased this lens and debated whether to take it on a new England cruise. I'm very glad I did. I probably had this lens mounted on my 5D3 about half the time. So useful for getting tight compressed images and lots of versatility. The lightweight and compact lens was easy to store in my Domke bag and I never regretted taking it with me.

Here's the whole collection of images from my trip:

Here are a few taken with this lens:
