@Rolex

If carrying stuff around is going to an issue you can get away with just te 70-300. In the event a wide shot is needed just do a couple of vertical shots pano style and stitch when back home.

An example, not great but will do to illustrate the point - 12 shots horizontal pano at 70mm stitched in PS6. End image came out at 80"x22".

Great shots George ~

despite my love of the 24-105's walk-around versatility, I'll always be in love with my 70-300L...

Love the close ups Will!

A couple days ago I checked my local pond thinking that it was about time for the little ones to hatch and found these guys.

Recognizing mom and dad from last year, I spoke. "Sam and Goldie congratulations!" They turned and swam toward me and I chuckled. There was Goldie AKA "Tough Moma" puffing on a weed just like she often did last year.

They swam by me heading toward the bar that they often used.

Last year at this phase there were 7 goslings and this 5.

Last year Sam and Goldie raised their young at Campton Pond until they could fly off but another group that hatched at the pond left within a few a days. I believe there is another group ready to hatch. It'll be interesting to see who stays.

Great photo though!

please don't think its a photo I posted straight from my camera... I processed the heck out of it in Lightroom 5 beta! Among other things, the clarity slider is at 100%

Although it takes practice using the right settings on your camera - and different settings during the moon phases - I suspect you have nothing to worry about.

The settings I used for this were rather different than if it was only a 1/4 moon...

Cheers!
