And I have been hunting this one around my neighborhood.... He was higher up than I would have liked, second shot is a heavy crop.. mccamli Goldmember More info | Yep, this focusing thing's secondary role seems to be to make you feel like a complete idiot/failure at times. I got a lovely set the other day (all with the focus point on a bird's head) only to find that the camera decided the grass behind it was a much more interesting subject!

yeah that happened to me most when I used panning mode II... its actually when you are SUPPOSED to use IS Panning Mode II for tracking birds - but it sucks...
