Kenko Pro 300 1.4x extender

Will you post a photo of the extender please? I have yet to find one that plays nice with my 70-300.
If I can get images as sharp and clean as you've posted with a TC I would let my Tamron 150-600 go back to B&H with a smile!

this one JV
http://www.bhphotovideo.com …_Teleplus_PRO_300_DG.html (external link)

i used this extender with many lenses and the image quality is good
with this lens work fine on my 600D , 5D3 but on my 7D sometimes the focus hunts
but I didn't test it with the 70D or the 6D because i sold this lens before buying these cameras
now I'm using it with the 100L for macro photos and with the prime 200mm f/2.8 II to get 280mm focal length at f/4

but remember that using extenders on FF bodies are better than using them on the crop bodies
the image quality of the FF helps

the kenko 1.4 on my 60D and 70-300L just sucked. Major focus hunting... in the 3 wks I had it I did score a good full-moon shot... but of about 6 shots I remember going through them in Lightroom:
1st shot: blurry
2nd shot: blurry
3rd shot: blurry
4th shot: WOW!
5th shot: blurry
6th shot: blurry

I'll get another kenko when I get the 70D or 7D II and give it another try

I don't know why this kenko extender is very fast on the 600D with this lens when i use it before
but I didn't try it on the 60D
now the kenko pro 300 DGX with the 70D is fine on my lenses
but I don't have the 70-300L to try it

My Kenko DGX sort of works. It needs a hefty mfa adjustment and usually hunts at 300mm but back off a smidgen and it's ok (ish) for BIF if the light's good.

Even with the mfa adjustment I still find, that the focus accuracy is a bit of a lottery...I lose more times than I win.

If you're reading this JVthePT what's the Tamron like to hand hold? I'm not very disciplined with my use of tripods and I'm not sure I ever will be.

Here ya go.

I would not be in a big rush to return the 150-600. My experience with my 50D is that AF is sloooooow, hunts more than Elmer Fudd, and requires quite a bit of patience. The trio of geese was a happy mistake. For the eagles, I had the advantage of sitting alone on a riverbank across from them for an hour, so I had the opportunity to focus focus focus, and fire off a lot of shots. Many looked alike, and some were out of focus. When the first one took off, I got the entire sequence...but not a single one in focus. Same thing happened when the 2nd one left 20 minutes later. The pic below pretty clearly illustrates this and was a disappointment. With my current body, I would not expect great results for BIF or fast moving subjects, but for static subjects, and considering I picked it up for a pretty good price, I'm happy with it.

Thank you!
I've heard the DGX version is very good with this lens but haven't really been able to play with one.
