Just joined the 300mm club again, purchased the 300mm f2.8 IS L MKII to fill in between my 70-200 and 500 f4 MKII.

Funny enough i had the original 300 f2.8 IS L and selling it was probably the biggest mistake i ever made as its such an excellent lens and very versatile.

Thanks guys. No, I'm not working for NG :) I use usually hides or tents to get close enough to birds. The most important thing is to be in the hide one hour before the sunrise so the animals don't see you coming. That's the part of the secret i think :)

The first hide is basicly a huge hole in the ground so you dont must to lay on your belly if you want to have a low perspective. Instead of laying you can sit comfortable in the digged hole :)
Sorry for my english, I know it's not perfect but I try :)

I bet you once was a special forces :-D
Your shots mostly stunning, but your preparation to create that shots is unbelievable. Did you dig those holes a day before the shooting day? You did it by yourself or with partner? How long you usually need when in undercover like that? Have you ever feel itchy hiding under a haystack? ignore my last question, hahaha

You are not alone, my english was bad too
