Yes, 3002.8ii plays very well with 2x.

Very nice, I normally use the 300/2x combo on the 5d4 and but I think I will try it on the 7d2 this weekend and use the 100-400 + 1.4x on the 5d4. Gotta nice museum flying day to go to on Saturday with a Spitfire, Wirraway, Boomerang, Hudson and Meteor all due to go up.

Wow, sounds like great fun. These are aircraft I have not seen before in person.

To be honest, my keeper rate with my 300/2x isn't all that great. Motion blur and panning mistakes become more evident.
But that's me, not the gear. I must concentrate more on my panning when I use the 2xIII.

But the photos that I keep are very nice. You can get a very unique perspective at 600mm.

I know what you mean about keeper rate @ 600mm when panning with low shutter speed but as long as I get one or two I am happy.... it is when I am 'off' all day that I get mad with myself for not concentrating better on my technique.

Didn't get too many with the 300 and 2x, used the 300 +1.4x or the 100-400 most of the time.

Here are a few from pass with the 7D2 - as you can see 600mm was almost too close!!

Well, I got one of these a couple of weeks ago. I took it on a shakedown trip to Costa Rica and all I can say is that my mind is blown. I used it both alone and with the 2xTC and it is just beyond my dreams. My trusty 100-400ii fell and broke the second day so I used the prime for the rest of the week. Just fantastic piece of glass. Any bad shots are clearly user error. Starting to process photos but here are a few.

Awesome photos- I really like the Toucan photo. The colors on the bird pop nicely against the background

Some people are REALLY into the "new and shiny" experience. I treat my gear like tools - I'm very tough on them, but some people feel that cameras and lenses are almost like fine furniture, and the unpacking experience is a big thrill.
