The versatility of this lens keeps taking me by surprise.:-)

Here we have the (300mm F2.8L Mk II) + (Extension Tube EF-25 II 25mm) + (EF 1.4x III Extender).

Although the eye detail on the Bush Thick Knee bird is not quite macro quality, it remains very good.:-)

Last night the planet Venus (bright blob on RHS) passed by the 7 Sisters (Pleiades) star cluster and I fitted the Canon Extender EF1.4x Mk III on my tracking platform and grabbed 12 shots which I stacked in PS CC.

12 frames, 5 secs, ISO800 at F4.

Here's the lunar eclipse April 2014. Canon 300 f2.8 IS II + 2xIII, hand held.
I had no idea what I was doing, or what camera settings to use. At that time I had
not done a mfa on the lens/extender. Just slap it on the lens and start shooting.

Moon from Brisbane 21st May 2021. I used two Canon Extenders x2 stacked. The Version III and the Version II to give a focal length of 1200mm at F16.

Mounted on tripod, using Electronic Shutter I took 60 frames and then used Autostakkert3 SW to Align and Stack the best 30 Frames.
