Is it handheld or on tripod ? Were you in a hide ?

It was handheld, 700mm (inc 1.4xTCIII) f/8, 1/500 sec at ISO3200. I took it in my garden, the bird (a Nuthatch and one of my residents) was on the garden wall collecting seeds.

All with the 7D2 and the 500 II + 2x III, about 50% crops

I had a spare hour today so got some bird images in my garden with the 1Dx + 500mm. The last shot (of the Nuthatch) was the only one in anywhere near decent light:

WimDel, 2slo, how often do you use the 2xIII? Did you'll Maf your lens with the 2xIII?

I use my 2x TC as often as needed, which is regularly. I've had no problems with the results. I haven't had to MA either of my super teles (300 f/2.8 or 500 f/4) with any of the bodies I use.

Thanks. I am selling a few items and I may use the proceeds on the 2xIII. I'm seeing some good results from it.
