Picked mine up a couple of weeks ago and spent a week touring through some games reserves in the Karoo, South Africa. This little guy is called a rufous-eared warbler.

I like. What is the best time to visit Bosque. I am in the process of setting up trips for 2015.

Thanks

Some bird Images I took yesterday with my 500mm on 1Dx. These were with the 1.4xTCIII. The Kingfisher was quite distant so that shot is a 100% crop. The rest are 50% crops:

Yep, some nice shots. One day maybe I'll break down and get the 1Dx - when the new one comes out.

Saw this European Roller with a small snake it had captured and proceeded to eat.

Thanks everyone :-)

Great shot of the Roller with snake Jorgac

The shot below is one I got today with the 500mm. Looked like some courtship display from the bird photographed to one perched below. The other bird wasn't in the least interested!

Recently I was fortunate enough to be allowed to borrow a friends 500mm F4 IS II. It makes my 400mm F5.6 lens perform like a piece of garbage! Maybe some day I will be able to afford one!
