Good to see you joined the club Gadget guy- I know you'll love it. I'm amazed at the clarity even with the 2x III, just incredible.

How is the 5D SR? I'm thinking about getting one this winter sometime, I currently have the 5D M3.

The biggest problem with the 5Dsr is the fact that the ISO handling is terrible and i had to upgrade from my old Lightroom and Photoshop to the new online subscription CC version as the files are not supported in the older ones directly.

I just consider it as a slow 7D MKII in all honesty and wish in a way i had stuck with the 5D MKIII as that seemed more like a slow version of my 1DX which was a much better option for the majority of my motorsport.

Saying that though when the light is good and you can fill the frame with your subject the files and detail are superb.

Thanks Gadget- i appreciate your honesty and input.

My 5D M3 seems very capable, so I may hold off for awhile and wait until another iteration or model comes out.

Here's another couple of bird shots I took yesterday. The Blackbird was lit by the sun momentarily breaking through the clouds. Good light makes all the difference:

Thanks, glad you like them, though I'm still not happy with the loss of sharpness somewhere in the transition from the images on Flickr to postong them on here. I've only noticed this in the last few weeks so it seems a recent development. Have a look at the images on my Flickr and you'll see the difference straight away.
