Any thoughts on these two variants?
one is jpeg from RAW via C1,
the other is RAW to 16 bit Tiff (for printing then editing) in PSCS, and then a jpeg copy.

The first image is the better shot, BUT, it needs selective sharpening around the eyes, beak and feet. Maybe a little on the in focus section of the ground, but not much. Remember, birds feathers should look soft, especially this tiny chick, they should be so soft you could hardly feel them if you touched them. The second image is way over sharpened. Look at the halo you've created around the beak as an example. Whatever technique you use for sharpening, a little goes a long way
