Two shots of a Kingfisher I took today. The first is uncropped:

IMAGE LINK: https://flic.kr/p/LKahNr (external link) Kingfisher II (external link) by Mark Corpe (external link), on Flickr

The next is a 100% crop:

I went to one of my local hides to photograph this bird, as I walked in it was landing on the perch seen below, no time to put one of the extenders on but at least I got something :-)

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

Thanks. It was my 5th or 6th attempt to get a shot of this little devil as he kept flitting around in the branches. I'm guessing it was the sun on his back which made him sit here a second or 2 longer to give me the chance :-)

We went peep-shooting this morning! It was a cloudy and drizzly day and everything looked grey! All are huge crops but came out reasonably thanks to the magic of the 500 II. All handheld, shot at Jackson Bottom Wetlands, Hillsboro, OR.

Gonna be hard. ABs seem like they are from a different planet right now. But there's nothing better in rugby than a Bok-AB clash!
