I am not a news photo agency so I am in the same boat like everyone else. But I knew this would happen but was expecting it in 2011. 99% of my expectations were fulfilled the 1% was the announcement date of early 2011.
This just in from Canon USA:
from today, nothing fancy though. Very heavy crops, about 100%
a golden eagle and a eurasian jay.

you mean for flying? if so, I use the pelican 1510, and have the lens hood in a plastic bag or small backpack.
