Recently traded off my 500 IS and joined the 600 II club. With a three week old baby at home I haven't gotten the chance to get out and put it through its paces yet the way I'd like. Finally couldn't take it any more this past weekend so it was backyard safari time.

Moon rise tonight over the high desert near Albuquerque. It was a bit windy, hence all the dust near the horizon.

Moon rise tonight over the Sandia mountains. Very windy with 50 mph gusts and lots of dust in the air.

Full moon rising over the Sandia mountains. Pictured to the left of the full moon is the Kiwanis Cabin, built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1936. The altitude of the hut is about 10,600 feet above sea level.
