Went To AZ to visit mother since I hadn't flown out in a couple of years. (Yes I have seen my mother since then she always fly's here
)
I arranged to pick up a Nifty Fifty locally from a board member and all I can say is WOW.
I had one of these before (the original version) but this II model I got from him is an awesome little gem.
It is very sharp and had pretty good color rendition. Enough that I still can't believe the value of such a lens.
I had to sell off my wide angle zooms before the trip (17-55 is and my 24-70L) so all I had was my 70-200L 2.8 IS and my 100mm Macro. This little guy saved my ass when I went to the MIM (musical Instrument museum)
It was very sharp from 1.8 -2.2 I just could not believe it. I am only going to attach a couple land scape shots from Sadona and I will link to my post from the museum after I get it up.
This is my first Pan, after I stitched it, it was over 16,000 Pix wide. What you are viewing is about 7% of the over all size (1200 Pix wide)
Yes the sky's are that blue and Yes the rocks are that red i DID NO SATURATION BOOST on any of the colors in this shot. I DID do just a little sharpening because after the stitch it didn't seem to be as sharp as all the individual pictures where.he second photo is straight out of the camera with NO EDITING OF ANY KIND!!! Yes it is about -.5 EV underexposed but again this is from the Nifty Fifty and UNTOUCHED.
Pan with the 50
Straight from the camera with the 50 EDIT: this is the Bell without the signs and people.
