How odd to see them in colour, but incredible.

Even by today's standards, some of those photos are fantastic!

Here is a thread I started, oh, 4 years ago about the same images. It has a link to an online Library of Congress Museum, and the "Making Color Images from Prokudin-Gorskii's Negatives" contains a lot of interesting information about the process and how it was done.

Much more for photographers.
