However, looks pretty good as is and is certainly a notch above the normal sunset view.

It's nothing but a big, overexposed ball up there, so I'd get rid of it. Next time, change your angle to exclude the sun, and get closer to the jellyfish. "Everything will be alright. Love the lighting on the jellyfish. You could almost do this as a pano crop. you're a great friend, but if Zombies chase us, I am tripping you.

I did not use any filters on it.

But working more with the composition and incorporating the jelly fish would improve it. The thought crossed my mind that wouldn't this be an awesome photo if you could get down on the ground close to the jelly and have the clear jellyfish backlit from the sun. In my imagination it's almost like one of those water droplet pictures. Just an idea. 5D MkII - Sigma 50mm f1.4 Prime, 24-105mm f2.8, 70-300 f4 IS - Pocketwizard MiniTT1, 2xFlexTT5 - 1x580EX, 1x430EX - Canon G12

I'm a sky guy, but I can dig what you did with this. I really like the surf an sky though. Would you like to buy a vowel?
