So I have officially been hit by the L bug. My kit is listed below in my sig which i now want to upgrade. For roughly the same amount of money I'm looking at 3 choices:

1. Upgrade to 17-40L, 24-70L, and 135L
2. Upgrade to 17-40L, 24-70L, keep 100mm f2, add 70-200 f4L non-IS
3. Buy a 35L

I shoot real estate occasionally, but mostly portraits and environmentals. 1 and 2 will round out my kit much better as a whole. 3 will...well, will give me a 35L :D

Opinions?

Befor upgradeing anything, you need to ask yourself what is wrong with your current equipment or what focal length do you need? The 28-70L might be old, but from what I know it is still a very good lens.
What do you feel your 100 f/2 lacks that a 135L would give?
Do you need more range then the 100 mm?

Well I love the compressed look that a longer focal length will give me, although Im not sure the f4 will give me that. As for the 24-70, thats just a gravy upgrade hehe.

70-200 f/4 IS or 35L would be my recommendation :)

24-70, 100 macro and 35L would be a pretty versatile kit.

personally I would skip the 24-70L if you're satisfied with the 28-70L
If you need reach, 70-200L f/4 IS, if you want a fast prime, 35L or 50. If you want to upgrade your wide angle, then 17-40L + 50mm f/1.4.

The 28-70L is a great lens! It's sharper than the 24-70L. Why would you get rid of a good thing?

How about selling what you have and getting the 35L and 135L?

If you shoot realestate why not go with a TS-E 24 or something?

No kidding.

YES! T-S lenses are amazing for architectural stills. (because thats what theyre designed for DUH :P)

If I were you though, I would go after the 17-40, along with the 70-200 f/2.8 (I LOVE DOF) xD.

Just my opinion.

Gear: Gripped 7D/ 28-70mm f/2.8 L/ Sigma 50mm DX DG f/1.4
Coming soon: Speed Light 580 EX II, and hopefully the 70-200 Sigma f/2.8, Sigma 85mm f/1.4 (when it comes out) :D

That TS-E 24 looks amazing, but I would definitely not use it enough to warrant the price. I only shoot houses every once in a while. I thought about the 70-200 f2.8 but it just gigantic.

Im also starting to get a few requests to take pictures of kids so Im kinda leaning toward to the 35L, then upgrade the rest down the road.
