Has anyone seen the Sun Sniper strap? It has a steel cable to deter theft. The ad has a cartoon like picture with a mugger trying to cut the strap but it shows a little "spark" I guess to show he can't cut it.

Great, so now instead of losing an insured camera the mugger will just stab you and lift it off your bloody body. What marketing genius thought of this angle?

If he's cornered you, I doubt he'll go for the "slash strap and run" tactic. I reckon it's more for the snatch thieves, who if unsuccessful, would just run off. I personally haven't seen / committed any thefts, but I can't see:

1. A thief slashing your strap if he's got enough time to stab you when he fails. He'd just demand it off your neck / shoulder / where-ever such is if he's got you in a dark alley

2. A thief turning back to stab you if he doesn't have the time to get the camera off your neck such as a snatch thief.

Saw this on the actual package also. At first I was looking for the battery pack that powers the anti-theft shocking feature.
