Did you read the fine print? They had already developed the 50mp APS-H sensor in 2007. At this rate, it'd be the 1D Mark L that gets 50mp sensor. :lol:

Also if you read it compares it to their highest "commercial" sensor. The money that went into producing such a chip would make it out of the price range for most people if they were to include it into a flagship camera. Look at hasselblad, having a 50mp camera sensor makes their cameras cost tens of thousands of dollars.

That's because of sensor size, not pixel count.

Maybe you'd like this sensor better:
202x205mm from Canon. For those who think that full frame is too small and would rather have a crop factor of 0.15 :)
