Hi!

I am a portrait photographer specializing in children/maternity/newborn portraiture. I use natural light 99%!

But in 2 weeks, I will be shooting a private fundraising show. It will be held indoors from maybe 630-830pm. The performers is a band of 4.. I was told that there will be no special lighting whatsoever because the venue is actually at a huge home/mansion? So, it is a private performance and there will be catered dinner for the guests..

This is a volunteer work, and I thought it would be a great opportunity for me to try something out of my specialty. But now, I am panicking because I am not sure I have all the proper equipment..

What would be a great lens for a smaller scale performance like I described above? I'm guessing a wide angle lens would be a must?

Currently, I have: 5D2, 24-105mm, 50mm, 85mm

Thanks in advance,
T

Your 50 and 85 should work fine. Personally, I would make use of your 430ex (bounced) and your 24-105. There aren't really and good, inexpensive, fast, wide angle lenses, and I'm not sure you'd want to drop $1k+ for a volunteer job.
