The second one is the most pleasing, composition wise. It sort of resembles a beach version of the grassy field background that you used to get in Windows XP. I like the different layers and the composition is good. I can't help feeling the image would have worked better if it had been a cocktail with an umbrella or a bucket and spade though.

With the first image I can see what you were trying to do but I feel like there's too much of a gap between the people on the left and the object on the right. The image would look better with the two moved closer together, I think.

Finally, I think both images would benefit from a boost in vibrance and contrast. Make the sand a bit yellower and the sea a bit bluer (but don't overdo it). I am looking at this on my work computer and my monitor is fairly awful so if it looks ok to you on a calibrated monitor then ignore my advice :)

Hi Dave,
The first thing I saw was a crooked skyline in #1. Try to straighten that out. #2 skyline is perfect, and the shot is a pretty good one but Im asking why a Pumpkin?

Fix the white balance!!! It looks way too purple.

I like the composition of the second one, it would make a good desktop background.
