Monterey Bay, in a kayak. To give you an idea just how close this guy was, the MFD on the 70-200 IS II is approx 4-5 feet. And no...we didn't stalk him, he approached us, nudging the kayak, pulling on the rope, and generally being curious. He did the same thing with the docent's kayak.

Thanks! It was a great day to shoot from the kayak...conditions were glass smooth on the bay, as is usually the case early in the morning. Very pleased with the lens. The drybag could have been a bit larger width-wise, but all in all, it worked out just fine.
