There just aren't enough threads on the 60D so I thought I'd better start another one ;)

Aside from the plastic body, I personally like what I'm hearing about it. Who thinks they will pick the new Rebel...er, I mean... 60D when it's here? Why or why not?

Someone started a poll asking the same question here:

maybe. i don't have money for a 7d and the t2i doesn't have seperate dials for aperture and shutter.

it'd be a huge upgrade over my 1000D and d200.

I've been waiting on the 60D, but there's NO WAY I'll be buying it after seeing the downgrade specs.

I've been holding off on buying an extra camera until the specs on the 60D were officially announced. But now that they have, I've decided I'll be picking up a 5D Classic.

Was curious to see the specs and after seeing them, I have to say I thought it would be a bit different.

I'm one of the complainers, but at the same time I would love to have it.

I think it does a lot and has a good price.

If you're a 50D shooter, however, your best bet would be to upgrade (if you plan to upgrade at all) to the 7D.

Going from the 50D to the 60D is going to get a few extras, but you'll be happier with the 7D.

I'm wondering when the 5D mark THREE will come out.

Thank you. bw!

I am ratholing cash as we speak. When i get to a grand, if canon still has 7Ds available via trade in, ill go that route...otherwise would love the 60D as an upgrade over my rebel. Cant wait to see the reviews on it.

Personally, the plastic body is a deal breaker for me. (If I wanted one, that is)

I am seriously going to consider it as a video camera for my video production biz!

Honestly the 60D is exactly what I expected it to be - something different to the 50D with a few little modifications and performance lesser than the 7D. So for myself whilst the 6D is an upgrade from my 400D its not quiet enough and I'm still aiming for the 7D (fantastic AF, weather sealing etc... :))

I'm confused on what I want... I have a t1i that I'm giving my wife and I am torn between c.loy prog. 7d with only 90 day warr. Or the super rebel 60d with a 1yr. I had a few hot dead pixel problems so I'm a little worried about the 7d known issues. I don't mind the plastic body as I like the lower weight. But I wanted the extra focus points and other goodies. So idk what to do now.

Decide on features first that you want and don't worry about the body construction, IMO.

Not me, I have a 7D and a 2nd body would be FF.

But I think its a great camera and a worthy upgrade from a 400-500D if your moving up the chain.

I'm pretty content with full-frame at this point but I wouldn't write off the 60D as an option if I were buying a new crop body. It's still a step above the Rebels even with whatever shortcomings it may have. It's not that it's a bad camera, just a different direction than what people have come to expect from the XXD line.
