There just aren't enough threads on the 60D so I thought I'd better start another one ;)

Aside from the plastic body, I personally like what I'm hearing about it. Who thinks they will pick the new Rebel...er, I mean... 60D when it's here?

The 60D makes me glad I bought the 7D rather than waiting for the 50D's successor. Honestly, I'd rather have my old 50D back than have a 60D.

I have a T1i and will get the 7d (or its' successor) next. If the 60d had a mag. body + MA, I would have definitely considered it. The IQ from my T1i can def. hold it's own and is not limiting me in anyway YET, so I may hold off a bit longer.

I'm pretty content with full-frame at this point but I wouldn't write off the 60D as an option if I were buying a new crop body. It's still a step above the Rebels even with whatever shortcomings it may have. It's not that it's a bad camera, just a different direction than what people have come to expect from the XXD line.

That is my exact opinion as well. You get good IQ, 5fps (same as a 30D), and the coolest new feature- being able to process JPGs from RAW files IN CAMERA. I like to shoot RAW but hate shooting RAW+JPG just to get the odd JPG for facebook or whatever, and importing/exporting in LR is too time consuming (if you are only doing a few pictures).

I am disappointed that they took out the PC socket, took away the micro adjust (a cool feature of the 50D that I have not had the experience to use yet), took off the joystick (one of the top 3 reasons to buy a xxD IMO), and dumbed down the buttons by the top LCD. I don't care that it 'only' shoots 5fps, because they are 18mp now afterall and maybe the current DIGIC processor can only put out that much (hence the reason the 7D has dual).

If I was upgrading from my first camera the 400D, this would be a nice upgrade. I'd love to have usable ISO6400 like the 7D.

I'm seriously considering it, but if I do it won't be for a while. I really want video and don't want a rebel so it's between the 60D and 7D. Most of the 60D's downgrades from the 50D either don't bother me or aren't downgrades from my 20D. Out of all of the downgrades the only one that I really don't like is the lack of microadjust. I think I'll just see what the price gap between the 60D and 7D is when I'm in the market for one of them.

I would like a second smaller body so its either a t2i or 60d. I will probably go with the T2i but I do like the remote flash and 2 dials of the 60D so I will wait to see them side by side.

I was considering the 60D until I saw the specs. I've decided to sell of the 5DII and maybe even the 1000D . I'll likely wait for the 5DIII next year but I may pick up the 7d or it it's successor. In the meanwhile it's time to buy more glass. :)

I wish Canon would have put continuous auto focus similar to what Sony has done with the Sony Alpha a33 and A55. The a33 looks like a great alternative to a camera/camcorder.

If your after a SLR like camera with compromised stills images for video AF then the A33/55 could be for you.
