Blew the dust off my 5D2 and 70-200L 2.8 IS which I've been badly neglecting the past few months...some shots of the US Open practice sessions I was at earlier today...can't wait for next week when my favorite time of the year finally begins!

Roddick, Monfils, Federer and a guest appearance by the NY Red Bulls' newest "soccer import" ...I'm sure some of you will know who I'm talking about...

Nice shots...did you have any issues getting the gear past security?

None whatsoever...as long as you bring a bag that is within regulation then you should be ok. NO BACKPACK STYLE BAGS ARE ALLOWED! -- I recommend a messenger style Crumpler or something similar.

I have a Tamrac Velocity 8x sling, so it goes over 1 shoulder. You think that would cut it?

What kind of lens did you bring in? I'm wondering if they'd have issue with a 70-200 F4IS. I have a 135L but not sure if that'll be long enough. Our tickets are Lower Promenade Section 316.

Thanks for the tips!

You should be ok. I brought my 5D2 and 70-200 2.8 in a messenger style Crumpler bag. I dont think the 135 will be long enough, unless you manage to make your way near the court or stick to the other courts (other than Ashe) where you can sit just about anywhere on a first come first serve basis.

Enjoy the tennis! I'll be going another 2 days this Labor Day weekend.
