While photographing the moon yesterday I encountered some weird horizontal and vertical lens flare lines I've never seen before. Only showed up around the moon and it's really annoying. This is the first time this has happened to me. The blobs are fine but the lines I don't like.

Here are two 10mm 30s exposure shots, one at F/3.5 the other at F/11. Forgot to mention, shot without a filter, lens was a bit dirty but it wasn't much, doubt it could have caused that or could it?

It's called Internal Lens Flare (external link) . Caused from a bright object within the picture . The spikes are from the shutter blades .

As stated above. Internal lens flare. Usually happens with the bright sun in photos.
