In late June I conducted a workshop in British Columbia. The featured subjects were the Common Loons, but there wee lots of other birds to photograph as well. Here are a few images from the Loon workshop. I hope you like them. Thanks for looking. All comments welcome.
1. Killdeer Banking Flight

2. Common Loon with Chick

3. Common Loon Calling for It's Mate

4. Male Caliope Hummingbird Flight (no flash used)

5. Female Canvas Back Duck with Chick

6. Male Ruddy Duck Displaying

7. Common Loon with Chicks

All images were made with a 1D Mark 4 camera with 500mm F4 lens using hand held technique. For some of the images I added a 1.4xTC. Flash was not used for any of the images.

A beautiful set, Jim. I like #3 and the last shot in particular, but they are all wonderful photographs.

Beautiful shots. The last one is my favorite. I'd love to see a loon sometime.

Those are some beautiful shots, Jim!!! You should come out to the Pacific Northwest and do a workshop!

Straightening...lol. Every time I straighten the horizon, I hang the picture crooked.

Wonderful shots, Jim, as always. I have seen similar birds all over the northern US and southern Canada, but always too distant for good photos. You must have used a boat or have very good stalking skills (or both). I just arrived in Creston, BC this morning. Is this where you had your workshop?

I was also going to ask where in BC did you do your workshop! Great shots especially the kill deer!
