I have a 100mm,f2.8,canon macro lens.,this is an older model lens.
The filter size is not written anywhere on the lens, and I need a lens hood
I bought this on e-bay about a year ago..
Hoping someone might know, what size lens hood this lens takes.,and where I might order it??

Thanks
Mike

Is this an FD or EF mount? If it's an EF for EOS, check out the lens chart on this forum. All that info is there. Go to the prime lens table, and you should be able to figure it out from the FL and photos.

Canon 50D gripped, EF 50/1.8, EF-S 10-22, 17-40L, 24-105L, 70-200 f/2.8L, 100/2.8 macro, 100-400L, 300 2.8L, Canon 500 f8 mirror with chipped EF mount, 580EX, 1.4x and 2x Canon teleconverters, Canon EF Life-Size converter.

Richard,
Thanks for your reply.

It's an EF lens mount...
I downloaded the table,and as far as I can tell ,it's either a 52mm,or 58mm thread..

Much appreciated!!!

Mike

Measure it with a ruler across the ID. You should be able to tell for sure.

If you have the old arc-form drive 100mm f2.8 macro, then the filter size should be 52mm.

Richard,Mike,

Thanks for the additional info.
Actually I found an old 52 mm filter ,and it worked fine..

I thought that because the glass element on this lens was receded,I wouldn't need the hood, but of course after spending the day in the local botanical garden ,here in NY,I found out other wise..flare on most of my images,so,
It's off to B&H photo tomorrow.

Thanks Again,
Mike
