Image captured at a concours rally of bikes. The bike is a rare and legendary BSA 500cc Gold Star DBD34. This 100mph cafe racer was around long before the term was coined. the weather was overcast with some occasional sun. Highlights were left to burn out a little to provide some sparkle and a sepia finish was added to suggest a different era. Sunlight glinting off the end of the exhaust pipe was natural rather than post processed.

exif:
Camera: Canon 1D mark II
Lens: 16~35mm f/2.8L (mark 1)
Focal length: 25mm
Aperture: f/7.1
Shutter speed: 1/1250th of a second
ISO: 400

Nice pic of a great bike.

If anyone says they don't make bikes like that anymore they would be right, but look at what I bought fresh off the production line this year.

A friend of mine has about 80% of a gold star in various boxes, I am trying to persuade him to start the restoration.

Don't forget about Triumph Modern Classics like the Bonneville and Thruxton.

I had to stop myself from buying an old '72 Triumph Daytona off of craigslist earlier this year to go with my '06 Triumph Daytona.

And I love the picture. One day I will have a cafe racer, preferably of british origin.
