Hi,

my current setup is a late 2009 27" iMac and a 24" Dell Ultrasharp 2410.
I m using a Color Spyder 2 and the software that came with it, but I am not satisfied with the results. The iMac looks too purple and the Dell is too greenish.

Wich colorimeter gives better results? Spyder 3, Munki, eyeOne?
Or is there an alternative software I could use which supports my Spyder 2?

How do you calibrate your LED iMac?

Dirk

I think the ColorMunki is first choice, followed by Spyder3 Elite. Both can handle wide gamut and LED type displays and both can adjust the brightness of the iMac automatically.

I never thought much of results with Spyder, but can vouch for ColorMunki. Very impressive, particularly for matching prints to what you see on screen. No-brainer, IMO.

I have the Pantone Huey Pro and it's nothing but a headache to work with. So i'm considering X-Rite EODIS2 Eye-One Display 2 and ColorMunki Photo which seem to be better then Spyder. The Huey is not bad supposedly if you can get one that is not defective which appears to be a major challenge. Mine gives color blue cast which seems to be a common problem and probably intentional to get more money. I just find it hard to justify the cost of ColorMunki since i'm not really one to do much printing.

Also NEC which i'm using and others seem to be pushing re-branded versions of the Eye-One http://www.necdisplay.com …38-4d73-928d-cbeff04b61c2 (external link)

They are not "pushing" anything. They offer the Spectraview II calibration system for calibrating certain high end NEC monitors. It's an NEC specific, integrated system which includes a custom modified X-Rite colorimeter capable of accurately calibrating NEC wide gamut monitors.
