Previously I have sent my equipment to Irvine repair center. I have not had a good experience with them because my equipment required multiple trips to get it right.

I am having a problem with my one my lenses now and I would like to try sending it to Jamesburg NJ. Will this be ok even though I live in California and the Irvine center is closer?

Call customer service and ask. Turn around time is going to be slower, but that doesn't mean anything if it needs multiple trips. My only experience with Irvine, CA repair was great.

I'm sorry to hear that.. I've sent a 10-22 and a 70-200 2.8 IS (mk1) in to irvine and have had great service!

Im curious; what lens and what is the problem?

There should be no issue to which center you send your lens in for repair. I personally just dropped off my camera at the Irvine Repair Center, being so close and all, and I had a great initial experience. We'll see once I get the camera back, but I'm optimistic that they will do a good job.

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience though. You should send it to the NJ one if you feel more comfortable, and are able to do without a camera for a while.

I don't see why not. canon usually replaces the autofocus mechanism because it is 1) faster for them to do it and 2) costs less to produce the part than to have the technician spend hours trying to figure out what is wrong.

either center will perform the same process.

Card reader on my T1i went out, sent to Irvine they replaced the PCB. Came backI couldn't take a picture. On a super exposed photo I could barely make out the outline of what I was shooting. Bad luck? Perhaps.
