I guess I could have worded that title differently . My client had her little girl earlier than expected, she was born on the 28th, she comes home this afternoon, I am expecting she is going to want me to come over Tuesday or Wednesday, would Friday be worse than Tuesday? My daughter is almost 3 and she slept an unusual amount so I don't have much to compare to, there was this hat she thought Zoey would look adorable in and I just ordered it and it will not be here until Thursday at the earliest.

So when is the ideal time you like to do your newborn sessions?

If you want the "newborn" look, try to get within the first two weeks, no later than four weeks. After a month, babies no longer have the "newborn" look.

I'm speaking, of course, of full-term babies. A preemie starts out early in all aspects, so you may be able to time things from the date the birth was originally expected.

She wasn't really early or anything, just 3 weeks, but she just went into labor all at once with no signs from baby, so we weren't prepared. She wants me to come Wednesday, so no hat I guess :(. Unless she can wait until I get it :)

Thanks for the reply!

My daughter was born on 8-11 at 37 weeks. She looks different every day. She still has that newborn look but looking more "baby" every day.

If you're really looking for the newborn shot, get it soon.
