OK, I'm pretty sure it's a Least Sandpiper, but it's always difficult with these peeps.

It was foggy as all heck this morning, and the GBH was a little too far away, so I checked the other opening in the marsh grass. Hoping for peeps, I found one. This little guy was pretty daring - but cagey. He'd come within 5 or 6 feet of me, but only if there were some bushes in the way. Otherwise he'd run out to about 10 feet away. Being cagey myself, I aimed between the bushes and managed several shots.

Not the greatest shots, but I'll take a close-up peep any day.

You can take my 100-400 L away when you pry it from my cold, dead fingers.

Ah, cute shore bird. I got a few shots of a least last Saturday too. I'll definitely go back for more.

Yep, Least. I also got some more pics of them tonight...it just amazes me how tame these little guys are! You could probably get away wearing white clothing with these guys... ;)

I don't know how I missed this post. Had I have seen it, I would have known what I captured the other day. Very nice!
