EOS 50d - Fire built-in flash unconditionally

Hi guys,

I have an EOS 50D. How can I make it fire the flash unconditionally (I mean, every time I take a picture) ? I tried the little button that releases the flash, camera in Av mode, it didn't work.

i dont have my 50D right now but go through the custom functions and enable on-board flash.
